Requires food service businesses to provide written notice of major food allergens in each menu item
S.3394/A.4826 requires New Jersey food service businesses to provide clear and conspicuous written notice of major food allergens (the top 9) that they know or reasonably should know are contained in each menu item, including temporary menu items. Disclosure may be on the menu, via a QR code linking to a website, or on separate written materials. More than 950,000 New Jersey residents live with food allergies, yet restaurants are currently not required to clearly disclose allergens.
